bein' a bumpkin...

The best part of being a bumpkin is that you can go work in the yard and no one bothers you. Your neighbors do not feel the need to come out and chit chat, people do not look out the window with their hand on the phone ready to call the home owners association, the neighbor's kids do not try to run you of with their new fandangled toys. Just you, the great outdoors, and peace and quiet.

Until you come to the realization that the people before you had no idea about yard work and you are waging war on a pricker bush with family. And as you are ripping it out of the ground all of it's children have decided to rise up against you. Yes it is true where the is one pricker bush, there are many little pricker bushes waiting to scratch you and make you bleed. They were holdin on for dear life too. They had worked their way up into the siding of the garage, behind a shed, and were starting down the driveway.

It may have taken me two hours, I may have lost blood, and I may have dug up a good part of the lawn but darn it all those pricker bushes are ripped out. And just to be sure - I am getting Round Up!

You are a woman of great patience and mild temperment. There's no way I could have completed that task without blowing a gasket and/or running to B in tears.
